The Right Format
for Every Event
Game table experiences work across a wide range of occasions and guest types. Here's how we approach each one differently — and what makes each format work on its own terms.
Corporate Events
Corporate events carry a particular kind of pressure — you need the evening to feel considered, not generic. A well-run game table does something that a DJ or a cocktail bar rarely manages: it gives people from different departments, different companies, or different seniority levels a neutral, enjoyable reason to interact.
We've run events for tech firms in Vancouver, financial services companies in Toronto, manufacturing businesses in Calgary, and agencies across the country. The specific industry rarely changes what makes the evening work — it's always about giving guests an experience that doesn't feel like a work obligation.
Guest mood
Relaxed and social, away from the day-to-day dynamic. People want to enjoy themselves without pressure — a game table is low-stakes and naturally icebreaking.
Ideal audience
- Team reward and recognition events
- Client appreciation and hospitality
- Conference social programmes
- Award ceremonies and gala dinners
- Product launch reception events
Suggested package
Signature Setup or Full Maple Experience, depending on guest count. Corporate clients typically prefer on-site coordination and branded elements.
Planning notes
Early booking is recommended for Q4 dates. We can work with your internal events team or directly with your venue. Dietary and accessibility considerations can be factored in at briefing.
Guest mood
Celebratory, warm, and personal. Private guests want to feel like the evening was put together with real care — the quality of the setup signals that it was.
Ideal audience
- Significant birthday celebrations (30th, 40th, 50th, 60th+)
- Anniversary dinners and milestone gatherings
- Retirement parties and farewell evenings
- Family reunion events and holiday celebrations
- Engagement parties and pre-wedding events
Suggested package
Hub Start for intimate gatherings of 30–60 guests. Signature Setup for larger private parties of 80 or more.
Planning notes
We work in private homes, hired venues, and restaurant private dining rooms. Setup is handled entirely by our team — the host simply arrives to a ready event.
Private Parties
Private parties are where the details really matter. A milestone birthday or a significant anniversary deserves an evening that actually feels special — not a standard venue package with a few added flowers. A game table gives the evening a distinctive, memorable quality that guests associate with the occasion long afterwards.
We bring the same level of preparation to a 30-person home event as we bring to a 300-person corporate night. The scale changes; the standard doesn't. Our team sets up cleanly, runs the tables throughout the evening, and disappears at the end without adding to the host's workload.
Private clients often tell us the table became the natural gathering point for guests who didn't know each other — friends of friends, different family branches, colleagues from different eras. The game gives people a reason to stand together.
Holiday Gatherings
Holiday events carry the expectation that the evening will feel different — warmer, more alive, more considered than a typical gathering. When an event is built around a season or celebration, the atmosphere needs to carry that meaning. A game table contributes to that feeling in a way that a standard reception rarely achieves on its own.
From Christmas parties in November and December to summer socials and autumn gatherings, each season brings a different energy and a different guest expectation. We adapt our approach — styling, game selection, pace — to match the occasion rather than delivering a single generic experience.
Blackjack and roulette tend to work particularly well at holiday events — fast-paced, inclusive, and easy to step in and out of across a long evening.
Guest mood
Festive and social. Holiday guests want to feel the season — the environment, the atmosphere, and the activity should all contribute to that feeling of occasion.
Ideal audience
- Office Christmas parties and staff celebrations
- New Year's Eve and holiday season events
- Summer socials and end-of-season events
- Community and neighbourhood gatherings
- Seasonal venue programmes
Suggested package
Signature Setup is the most popular choice for holiday events — comprehensive enough for a full evening, appropriately scaled for 80–200 guests.
Planning notes
Q4 dates (October–December) book up quickly. We recommend enquiring at least 6–8 weeks ahead for November and December events. January enquiries for the following season are always welcome.
Guest mood
Celebratory and emotionally engaged. Wedding guests want to feel the occasion — something that gives them a moment to share with people they may not have met before is particularly valued.
Ideal placements within the evening
- Cocktail hour while photos are being taken
- Post-dinner entertainment before dancing begins
- Late-evening option for guests staying on
- Outdoor or garden reception alongside other activities
Suggested package
Hub Start or Signature Setup, depending on how central the game activity is to the evening. A single elegant table during cocktail hour can be enough to create a defining moment.
Planning notes
We coordinate with wedding planners and venue managers directly. Timing is everything at receptions — we work around your programme, not the other way around.
Wedding Receptions
A game table at a wedding reception serves a specific and often underappreciated role: it gives guests from different parts of the guest list a natural way to interact. The bride's university friends and the groom's work colleagues have no obvious reason to talk — until they're both at the same table cheering a roulette spin.
We approach wedding work with particular care. The setup is elegant and unobtrusive. Our hosts read the room carefully and match their energy to the occasion. Nothing feels out of place in a premium venue, and nothing disrupts the flow of a carefully planned reception.
Couples who include a game element often tell us afterwards that it was the part of the evening their guests talked about most — not because it was surprising, but because it worked so well alongside everything else.
Brand Activations
Brand events require the experience to carry meaning. When guests associate the table with your brand — because the chips carry your logo, because the host has been briefed on your product, because the setup reflects your visual identity — the evening becomes part of your brand story, not just an activity alongside it.
We've worked on product launches, sponsorship events, trade show floor activations, and exclusive brand experience days. In each case, the approach starts with your brief: what do you want guests to feel, and how does the table experience contribute to that?
Guest mood
Curious and receptive. Brand event guests are there because they're interested — the activity should reward that curiosity with a genuinely memorable experience.
Custom elements available
- Branded chip sets with your logo or campaign
- Custom table felt colours to match brand palette
- Host briefing on brand messaging and tone
- Photography-ready setup and styled backdrop
- Leaderboard integration with branded prizes
Suggested package
Signature Setup or Full Maple Experience. Brand activations benefit from the custom elements and dedicated coordinator included in higher-tier packages.
How we work with venues
We operate as a service provider to the venue or as a co-producer of the evening, depending on your preference. Either way, we handle all equipment, staffing, and operational responsibility for the game element.
Suitable venue types
- Hotels and private members' clubs
- Rooftop and terrace event spaces
- Converted industrial and warehouse venues
- Private dining rooms and restaurant buyouts
- Cultural venues and gallery spaces
Partnership model
We work with venues on recurring formats, seasonal programmes, and one-off premium evenings. Long-term venue partnerships receive priority scheduling and dedicated account management.
Premium Venue Nights
A venue that runs regular premium evenings needs reliable partners who understand how a curated event is supposed to feel. We work with hotels, private clubs, and hospitality venues to create distinctive programmes where the game table experience is central to the evening, not incidental to it.
The key difference in venue work is repeatability. An event that works once is a success; an event format that works consistently across a season is a programme. We design our venue partnerships with that in mind — setup efficiency, host briefing, guest flow, and consistent quality across multiple dates.
If you're a venue looking to add a distinctive entertainment format to your calendar, we'd welcome the conversation.
